The story, “Mindok an Hambog nga Manok”, teaches the value of humility in a manner fit for young children. It is a story suggested in the Teacher’s Guide in Mother Tongue for Grade 1, Quarter 2, Week 9 primarily as a springboard to introduce letter Mm. Generally, the story would aid in the development of the different learning domains such as book and print knowledge, phonics and word recognition, vocabulary development, attitude towards reading, oral language and listening/reading comprehension.
